West Point Cadets Pipes & Drums

The Parade is fast approaching, and the lineup of bands is falling into place. We’re happy to confirm that one of them is the West Point Cadets.

The pipe band for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point (officially called the U.S. Corps of Cadets Pipes & Drums), this year they’ll be led by Drum Major Peter Fugate and Pipe Major Conor Woods. They’re easily recognized by their tartans, black and grey with thin gold stripes, registered with the Lord Lyon.

And returning after a hiatus of over 10 years, the USCC Pipes & Drums highland dancers will be joining the Parade. They are led by Cadet Alissah McGill (who recently trained with the Royal Military College of Canada Highland Dancers) and Cadet Alexis Martinez.

Following Tartan Week, the band will be performing on their home turf at the 32nd Annual West Point Military Tattoo on April 13th from 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Bands and performance groups from around the Hudson Valley will be joining them, with the massed band retreat ceremony at 6:00 PM. For more info, go to www.usma.edu/pipes.
